## Buying What Is Not for Sale

| Availability | To buy it |
|:--|:--|
| **Common** | Pay the price |
| **Restricted** | A licence, or an Average Deception check with a Grade 2 identity. Otherwise as Illicit |
| **Military** | A Hard Streetwise check and three times the price |
| **Rare** | Found by a job, not a purchase |
| **Illicit** | An Average Streetwise check in a city the buyer knows, Hard elsewhere, and a fixer's cut on top |

The GM may spend 2 Bane from the check to make the item second-hand, and a Calamity to make the seller an informant: the buyer gains 1 Heat.

## Services

| Service | Price | Notes |
|:--|:--|:--|
| **Street clinic** | Listed price of the implant | Installs cyberware of Load 2 or less. Surgery check at 2 Ability Dice |
| **Licensed clinic** | Listed price plus 20% | Installs anything legal. Surgery check at 3 Ability Dice and 1 Mastery Die. Reports what it fits |
| **Corporate hospital** | Listed price plus 50% | Installs anything. No check needed. The patient is on file |
| **Black clinic** | Listed price plus 50% | Installs anything, legal or not, and reports nothing. Surgery check at 3 Ability Dice and 1 Mastery Die |
| **Removal** | One tenth of the implant's price | Returns its Load after a week. The implant is second-hand |
| **Second-hand cyberware** | Half price | It is Glitchy until a Hard Craft check and 10% of its price put it right |
| **Monthly maintenance** | 1% of the price of all cyberware | Skipped for a month, one implant becomes Glitchy |
| **Trauma subscription** | 500 a month | An armed ambulance within ten minutes in a covered city, when a Biomonitor calls |
| **Fixer's cut** | 10% to 30% | Finds an Illicit item, a job, or a specialist. An Average Streetwise check saves the cut and takes a day |
| **Hired hacker** | 500 to 5,000 a run | Hacking at 2 to 4 Ability Dice. The good ones do not meet clients |
| **Data broker** | 100 to 10,000 a fact | Sells what is known about a person or a company. Also sells who asked |
| **Cleaner** | 2,000 a scene | Removes evidence. Reduces Heat from one scene by 1, if called within the hour |
| **Safehouse** | 200 a night | Coverage 0 inside. Nobody asks |
| **Record scrub** | 5,000 a point | Reduces Heat by 1, once a month, through a hacker or an official |

## Living

| Lifestyle | A month | What it buys |
|:--|--:|:--|
| **Street** | 0 | A doorway, a squat, a car. Coverage finds the character whenever it looks |
| **Low** | 800 | A coffin room or a shared flat. Bad food. One Bane Die to recover from illness |
| **Middle** | 3,000 | A flat, a subscription to most things, a clinic that answers |
| **High** | 12,000 | A secure building, real food, a name that opens doors |
| **Corporate** | 50,000 | Everything provided, and everything recorded |

A character who pays for no lifestyle is living on the street.

## What a Job Pays

A crew is paid for the risk and the Heat.

| Job | Pay, for the crew |
|:--|:--|
| A message carried, a package watched | 500 to 2,000 |
| A break-in at Security 3, nobody hurt | 5,000 to 20,000 |
| A person extracted from a corporate site | 20,000 to 100,000 |
| A data fortress | 100,000 and up, and a reason to leave town |

A Smartlink costs a courier a month's work. Wired Reflexes cost a good crew one bad night. That is the economy the book is priced for.
