The Ranged Armory

About This Book

Forty launchers across five families, each built so that choosing between them is a decision rather than a comparison of damage numbers. A two-axis ammunition system of nine shafts and nine heads, bought separately and combined, so that one bow covers several roles and switching quivers mid-fight is a real maneuver with a real cost. Fourteen weapon qualities defined here in full, on top of fourteen taken unchanged from the core rules and published Universe equipment chapters. A pricing model that any GM can rescale to their own economy by changing six numbers.

A bow is a delivery system. The arrow is the weapon. Two archers with identical bows and different quivers are doing different jobs, and this book is built around making that true at the table.

This book stands alone. It is a companion to The Fantasy Armory and does not require it. The only book you need beside this one is the Exodus NDS core rules.

Enchanted ammunition is out of scope. So are firearms. The line is drawn at powder propelling a projectile, which is why the naphtha siphon is in Chapter 8 and the fire lance is not in this book at all.
