Viridian Ship Catalog · Chapter 5

Shuttles and Couriers

Viridian's smallest hulls carry people and news: a private shuttle, a casualty shuttle, and the fast courier that is the maker's best-known ship.

The Serenity Line

Finless Manta Plate hull in two revisions, Serenity C1 to Serenity C2. Scale 2, Civilian grade.

The Serenity is Viridian's executive shuttle, a Scale 2 private transport for six passengers. It reaches a port without announcing itself: a smooth manta-plate hull, a Counter-Surveillance Suite, and Extended sensors that read the dock before the dock reads the ship. Executives, ministers and anyone else who can pay use it to arrive without notice.

Revision notes. Serenity C1. The published shuttle, with six luxury cabins built into the hull. The 13,400cr cabin fit-out is a fitting in the price. Serenity C2. A deeper shell plate over the aft body adds a Hull Point, and a longer pair of radiator vanes adds a step of Handling. Both changes use Viridian's cheap Handling. The C2 is still unarmed.

Common Variants. Executive shuttle, Diplomatic courier, Private charter shuttle, Dignitary lighter, Ministry runabout.

The Mercy Line

Finless Manta Plate hull in two revisions, Mercy C1 to Mercy C2. Scale 2, Civilian grade.

The Mercy is Viridian's medical transport shuttle, a Scale 2 hull with eight litters, a Medical Bay and universal medical markings. It lands where an ambulance cannot reach and lifts the patients out before the weather changes.

Revision notes. Mercy C1. The published shuttle: eight litters built into the hull and a Medical Bay that treats two patients at a time. Mercy C2. A wide dark teal sensor crown on the nose raises the sensors from Standard to Extended, so the crew reads a landing site from farther out, and a second stores hatch on the flank adds 5 Cargo Units for dressings and plasma. Neither revision carries a weapon.

Common Variants. Casualty evacuation, Field clinic shuttle, Plague-ward transfer, Relief ferry, Tissue courier.

The VN-33 Line

Finless Manta Plate hull in three revisions, VN-33C1 to VN-33C3. Scale 3, Civilian grade.

The VN-33 is Viridian's best-known ship and one of the five starting hulls in the Void Drifters Player's Guide. A narrow central body, sweeping radiator fins and an AI that plans the exit before the ship arrives make it the courier that is gone before trouble starts. It is fast, intelligent and fragile.

Revision notes. VN-33C1 (Classic). The published revision and the smoothest of the three. Its shell carries no extra radiator surface, so Quiet Shell removes 1 Bane Die from Signature Management checks aboard. Couriers that live by not being seen keep the C1. VN-33C2. Two more Hull Points and a sixth Module Slot, under one more overlapping shell layer and a dorsal hatch module. The added radiator surface costs the Quiet Shell. VN-33C3. A third Light mount under a flush cover and a step of Handling from larger swept fins.

Common Variants. Courier, Medical response ship, Survey craft, Executive transport, Intelligence vessel.
