Viridian Ship Catalog · Chapter 10
Signature Components
Modules and systems that only Viridian builds. They are Native aboard a Viridian hull and Certified aboard an Openframe hull. Aboard a Crown Meridian hull they are Adapted, and aboard a Kharos or Safa hull they are Forced (Chapter 12).
Reading a Component
Slots and Minimum Scale work as in the module catalog. Cost is a multiplier on the standard module price (Vehicles Manual, Chapter 12). Acquisition is who may own it. A component that needs another module says so. A component's benefit applies in a Viridian or Openframe hull; in any other hull it works as a Standard system. The Weak drawbacks follow the hull (Chapter 4).

Costs and rules here are first proposals and need table testing.
Lattice Diagnostic Spine. The system that knows what is wrong. The crew learns the hull's Maintenance Clock and every Maintenance Fault without a check, and Craft checks to diagnose a fault remove 1 Bane Die . It reads the fault; it does not mend it, and the Field Repair drawback still applies to the repair.
Triage Lattice. A Medical Bay add-on that sorts casualties for the medical AI. Needs a Medical Bay or an Expanded Medical Ward. The medical AI assists 2 Medicine checks per round instead of 1, without using an Active Channel. The VN-45 builds this function into its hull (Casualty Intake).
Continuity Escrow Vault. A Stack-Preservation Vault with a Concord lock and a custody log. Needs a Stack-Preservation Vault. Tampering with the vault adds 1 Bane Die to the Severe Electronics check, and the log gives the ship a custody record that Concord authorities accept (Chapter 9, Restoration Aboard a VN-73). Restricted outside Concord space.
Environmental Matrix. Splits one deck into up to four sealed biospheres with their own atmosphere, temperature and gravity. Species with incompatible needs share the deck, and a life-support fault or breach in one biosphere does not spread to the others. Checks to survive an environmental hazard aboard remove 1 Bane Die.
Sealed Salon Screen. Counter-eavesdropping for a salon beyond what a Diplomatic Suite gives. Needs a Diplomatic Suite, Executive Quarters or the VN-43's Sealed Salon. Intercepting communications from the salon takes a Severe Electronics check, and a failed attempt tells the crew.
Quiet Shell Plating. A signature-reducing shell and radiator sheath. Signature Management checks aboard remove 1 Bane Die . The sheath holds heat in: Heat Dissipation is 1 lower while it is fitted. The VN-33C1 has it built in as the Quiet Shell trait, at no loss of Dissipation, because its smooth shell has no extra radiator surface to give up.
Survey Lattice Array. A long-baseline sensor array for survey and archive work. Needs Extended or Military sensors. Active Scan checks to read a body, a wreck or a system's contents at Long range or farther add 1 Boon Die . The array adds 1 Power Load while it scans. It does not stack with a Survey Module's die on the same check.
Service Seal Terminal. Records the Service Seal, warns the crew when the annual overhaul is within a month, files the certified yard's visit and shows the seal's state to a dockhand by status glow. It is a system, not a module: every Viridian hull ships with one, and a replacement costs its multiplier on the module price. Its record is proof of service at inspection: a crew whose seal is current removes 1 Bane Die from checks to clear Concord customs. Fitted aboard another maker's hull it records a service history and does nothing else.
