The Black Powder Armory ยท Chapter 12

The Smokeless Handover

Smokeless powder arrives in 1886. Within fifteen years every army has a magazine rifle that fires ten times a minute with no cloud to mark it, and the weapons of this book are obsolete.

The arms of 1890 to 1938 are in The Modern Armory. For a table running the First World War with only this book, their stat lines are below. None of them is Unreliable, none uses the Prepare reload, and none makes smoke.

The water-cooled machine gun on its tripod, the trench mortar, and the field gun are crew weapons, and are in neither book.

What carries over from this book into the trenches: the Socket Bayonet, the Trench Knife and Trench Club, the Steel Trench Helmet and Trench Armour, and the Dynamite Stick.
