Boarding Craft and Shuttles

Crown's small hulls ride on carriers or land on their own struts. Both are built to carry people into places where someone has chosen not to let them in.

The CM-120 Line

Armored Brick-Keel hull in two generations, CM-120 to CM-120A.

The CM-120 is a boarding craft. It launches from a carrier, closes on a target hull, seals its collar to the hull and holds the seal while a boarding party crosses. It has no Slipstream Drive and depends on its carrier for range.

Generation notes. CM-120A. The Medical Bay lets a boarding party stabilize its wounded before the craft withdraws. The sensor-and-equipment housing on top is the visible sign, and the nose armor is a little thicker.

Common Variants. Marine boarding craft, Customs boarding launch, Prisoner recovery craft, Hull-breach tender.

Carried by CM-720 (Expanded Hangar) or CM-640 (Shuttle Bay)

Builder Crown Meridian signature benefits and weak drawbacks; Integrated Architecture (Chapter 4). Armor counts as 3 against collisions, rams, and Critical Hits.

Trait Hardened Collar: When the CM-120 docks with a target, a successful Pilot check seals its collar. While the collar is sealed, breaking it takes a Hard Craft check by the target's crew, and the CM-120 takes no Hull Damage from the target's point defense.

The CM-260 Line

Armored Brick-Keel hull in two generations, CM-260 to CM-260A.

The CM-260 is an armored shuttle. It moves marines, prisoners and officials onto fields where an unarmored shuttle will not set down, and it lands on its own struts without a carrier.

Generation notes. CM-260A. A Medical Bay and a second equipment housing on each flank below the cabin windows. The extra Power Capacity runs them.

Common Variants. Prisoner transfer shuttle, Marine landing shuttle, Diplomatic security shuttle, Evacuation shuttle.
