The Chrome Market

About This Book

Seventeen weapons, eight armours, thirty-eight implants, twelve pieces of bioware, eleven drones, fourteen decks and programs, and thirty-one pieces of street gear, for the years between now and the stars.

Everything here is connected, and everything connected can be reached. A smart rifle aims itself and can be switched off from across the street. An implant makes a body faster and gives it a serial number. This book is the gear of the next eighty years, and for each piece it says what it does for its owner and what it gives away.

This book stands alone. It sits between The Modern Armory, which ends today, and The Stellar Armory, which begins among the stars. It requires only the Exodus NDS core rules.

Two tiers. Every entry is marked Near (about 2030 to 2060) or Chrome (about 2060 to 2100). A grounded techno-thriller uses the first. A neon city uses both.

A Game Book

Entries in this book are generic types in an imagined future. Nothing in it describes a real product, and nothing in it is instruction in breaking into any real system, building any weapon, or performing any medical procedure.

Other People's Characters

Chapter 8 lets one character reach into another's implants. No rule in this book gives anyone control of another player's character. The chapter says what a hack can do, and taking over a body is not on the list.
